Mix Besan & Pearl millet flour Pudla – Besan ka Cheela – Chickpea Pancake

"Pudla" / Chilla / Pancake is a very famous Pancake in "Saurashtra" Which is part of Gujarat state of country India.





- Gujarati Pudla (Besan ka cheela – Chickpea Pancake) is famous Gujarati savoury pancakes. 
- There are other variant of Pudlas like spicy, sweet pudla (Wheat flour pudla) etc.
- It is widely used as breakfast or dinner.
- You can serve it with green chutney, pickles , curd , Tea etc..


Here I am presenting the Recipe of Pudla / Pancake / Chilla With video.

Ingredients:- 


- 3 cup Bajri Aanta (Pearl millet flour)
- 3 cup besan(Chickpea flour/ gram flour)
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste.
- 2 cup butter-milk
- Salt to taste
- Red chilli powder. (lal mirch chatni)
- Turmeric powder (Haldi)
- Asafoetida (hing)
- 1/2 Coriender powder(dhaniya powder).
- Water according to requirement
- 2-4 tsp Oil / Butter

Instructions / method:

- Mix Pearl millet flour and besan flour in one bowl.
- Add ginger-garlic paste.
- Add buttermilk
- Add Salt, Red chilli powder(lal mirch
chatni),Turmeric powder(Haldi),asafoetida
(hing),Coriender powder(dhaniya powder).
- Add water and make batter medium not thin nor thick.
- Heat non stick pan.
- Add oil/butter and pour batter on pan at slow flame.
- Make round shape of it.
- Add very little oil/butter in its edge side.
- Cook till it appears golden brown color.
- Turn Pudla into other side and add 1 tbsp oil/butter.
- Also cook till light golden brown color.
- Do same process for another pancake(chilla/pudla).
- Serve with sauce / curd / green chutney / butter milk /  tea.
