Delicious vagharelo Lasaniyo bajri no rotlo recipe (Millet Flour Flat Bread)
This spicy & tangy Kathiyawadi breakfast tastes more delicious in winter.
First We have to make Rotla which is one type of bread made from the Millet floar and after that you can follow the process mentioned below.
It is very famous in Kathiyawad (Saurashtra) which is part of Gujarat. Mostly used in morning breakfast.
In few area it is known as "Ram Rasiya" ,don't know the history behind it .
In many Kathiyawadi Hotels in Gujarat you will find this delicious dish "Vagharelo Rotlo" / Vagharelo lasaniyo Rotlo.
Name "Vagaraelo lasaniyo Rotlo" is called because one ingredient used is Lasan (Garlic) so it is called "Lasaniyo Rotlo"(contains 'Lasan') .
Ingredients :
- One big size Rotalo
- One big size finely chopped onion
- 1/2-tbsp Rai
- 1/2-tbsp Jeeru
- 1-tbsp garlic chutney paste
- 1/2-tbsp turmeric powder
- 3 cup butter milk
- 2-tbsp oil
- 1 tsp tbsp Red chili powder
- Salt to taste
Method:
1) Make very small pieces of rotala almost look like flour.
This can be done by you keep rubbing the pieces of rotala
between your palms to crush it into very small pieces. I make
this by my palms.
2) Heat the oil in a pan in law flame and Add rai(black
mustard seeds),jeera(cumin seeds) , hing(asafoetida) and
garlic paste in it.
3) Add finely chopped onion and turmeric powder in it and
cook until they are golden brown.
4)After that add 3-cup butter milk and salt to taste
5)Cook in high flame until the butter milk is bubbling.
6) After that turn the flame low and add prepared material of
Rotala in it.
7) Stirring continuously and cook until they become like
thick gravy.
8) Turn off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
Note: Always serve hot. You also make same dish with use
Bread (Roti).
